William Douglas Parker Jr,
CMA Class of 1994/65/66/67/68

 

Clayton, NC   Mr. William Douglas Parker, Jr,  age 65, of 223 Barber Mill Rd., died Monday at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Graveside services will be held 11:00AM-Saturday at Barber Family Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Beasley.
Mr. Parker was born December 25, 1949 in Wake County to the late William Douglas Parker, Sr. and Charlotte Barber Parker.  Mr. Parker was a retired farmer and former owner of Seaboard Station in Raleigh.  He attended Freedom Biker Church in Clayton.
Surviving include wife Diana Lynne C. Parker; children, William Douglas Parker, III. and wife, Heather of Willow Spring, James C. Frederick and wife, Sarah of VA, Robert Todd Reese and wife, Gindy of Ohio, Michelle Storer and husband, John of Garner, Elizabeth Kulessa and husband, Sebastian of Garner, grandchildren, Justin Parker, Matthew Parker, Kelsey Storer, Kristen Storer, Kian Storer, Cortland Frederick, Kionah Pegues, Kindra Pegues and Luke Raynor.  
The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM Saturday.

Billy Bradham (1972)

i remember doug from my first year 1968-1969, he was the sgt of the color guard & i knew him from being in the band.his father was involved in trucking & doug would hitch a ride on an 18 wheeler to go home. so sad to hear of his passing. a very kind & gentle person to all.

Harrell Guy Graham (1967)

1967.  We called everyone by their last names so he was Parker.

He was so funny and made us laugh a lot.  He had WWII memorabilia in his trunk—US military stuff, German military stuff--and he would wear these things—helmet, medals, maybe a real uniform-- and parade around acting out funny scenes, saluting, marching, barking out orders and, well….whatever would come into his creative mind.  He cracked us up in laughter.

I wish I had stayed in contact with him.  I took a handful of pictures of guys in the dorm and Parker is in a couple of them.

I’m smiling now just remembering his antics.   Great times…great memories.

Eric (Ricky) Matzke (Matzke) (1968)

I only knew Doug for one year (67-68). During that year I was a member of the color guard. He was nice to me and helped me with life as a cadet at CMA. RIP in peace, Parker....
