He attended public school in Durham, NC, and Carolina Military Academy (1963) in Maxton, NC. Tommy graduated from East Carolina University in 1968 with a degree in Psychology. While at East Carolina he was an active member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and the varsity cheerleading squad.

Upon graduation, Tommy proudly served as a member of the North Carolina National Guard. Tommy had a long and distinguished career in sales, bringing his commitment to exemplary customer service to multiple companies throughout the South and Midwest, rising to serve as national sales manager for commercial and residential flooring. Well regarded by customers and employers he continued to work throughout his life

Unknown to many, Tommy carried on dual careers as a model for international advertising firms in the 1970s and 1980s, including major clients such as Philip Morris and Delta Airlines. Tommy lived life to the fullest, continuing his lifelong commitment to East Carolina University as a passionate booster of East Carolina football. He carried his love of football to the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl, where he participated as a volunteer for 20 years, serving as the parade emcee for many years.

In his spare time, Tommy was an avid golfer, fly fisherman, bird hunter and enjoyed shag dancing. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and being a kind and thoughtful husband, brother and friend. The most important element of his life was his wife Beth, whom he was devoted to and with whom he shared many wonderful life experiences. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Beth Lindeman Waller; sister, Joyce Hardy (Bill) of Aiken, SC; niece, Banks Willis (Kim) of Jacksonville, FL; and nephew, Carlyle Willis of Charleston, SC.

Hello Everyone

I wanted to let you know that I was able to attend Tommy Waller's Celebration of life last week and I would like to tell you of my discovery.

I thought that I got to know Tommy pretty well during my stay in the Smyrna area back in 2008-2010, we would occasionally meet for lunch with our old classmate Harrison McGraw and talk about CMA and football, and football, and football. But in all of our get togethers I never knew what I am about to tell you.  Tommy had a very secret life...???

Was he a dancer or entertainer?

Was he a Playboy?

Was he a Financier?

Was he a Business Man?

Was he James Bond?

No he was just Tommy...

But In reality unknown to most of us CMA Cadet Sgt Thomas D Waller Jr. was a model in the print ad field.  He has done print ads for many magazines during his career.

Rest In Peace Old Friend
