John Reese Helms, Jr. age 68, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at his residence.  Born in Fayetteville, NC, he was a son of the late John Reese and Sarah Helms. 

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Atkins Helms of Myrtle Beach; a son, John Reese Helms, III of Myrtle Beach; a grandson, Anthony Reese Helms of Myrtle Beach; a brother, Kenneth Wilson Helms of Raleigh, NC and sisters, Sarah Delane Helms of Four Oaks, NC and Penny Elizabeth Willis of Elizabeth City, NC.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 3, 2014 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel with Dr. J. Kirk Lawton, Jr. officiating.
