Do any of you remember my dad, Clyde Parrish?  He coached football and taught history at CMA from 1962-1964.  He was there when it first opened under the leadership of Col. Blankenship.  I was in the 3rd grade when daddy began his carreer at CMA.  I'd love to hear some stories about my daddy. Please let me hear from cadets and faculty members that were there with my daddy.  He passed away  on Dec. 6, 2000 after a 6 month battle with cancer.  I can remember, Jeep Whaley, Benny Weathers, Lee Johson, Jack Holley, Ed, Dodd, Scott Blankensip, Mary Taylor ( the nurse), Larry Whittenburg, Corky Maynard, Joe Creech, Jim Coble, Woody Gentry, and many others.

Margaret,

It's Woody Gentry.... Remember me!!!  Yes I remember your dad very well... I can still hear his voice on the ball field as my coach.... He was one of the most influential people in my life other than my parents... He taught me a lot good stuff about sports and life in general when I was just getting started in sports in Little League Baseball...   I remember you too... I use to have a crush on you, but you probably don't remember that....

I sill live in Maxton with my first and only wife, JoAnn....  Our two daughters are 28 and 31 and live at North Myrtle Beach and Charlotte, NC.....

I play golf with Britt from time to time....  I haven't seen him much lately though.....

Write me sometime...  My email is on this web site I think ... If it's not, here it is ....   woodpeker99@yahoo.com

You have a fantastic day!

Hey Woody,

How could I forget you! I went to elementary school with you for 5 years in Maxton, and I think you were my boyfriend for a while. I even went to a military ball with you at CMA. I have pictures! I don't get to Laurinburg that much since my parents died. I don't see Briit that much. I wish I did. We talk on the phone. Kevin lives in Shalotte, NC.  My youngest son, Bryce (21), is on the football team at UNC-P.   Bryan is 31 and lives in Holly Springs.  He's married to Patty and they have a little baby boy, Cruz who is 2 months old.  Bradley is 29 and lives right around the corner from us.  He's married to Melissa and they have a little girl, Kaylee, who is 4 years old.  Grandchildren are so much fun. Do you have any yet?  I've especially enjoyed having a granddaughter after having 3 sons.  Your mom had 4 sons, right?  I still love going to football games on Fri. nights. Randy retired 2 years ago, but he's still teaching and coaching at SV.This year he is working part time, but he's still the head football coach.  My oldest son, Bryan, found this web-site and sent it to me yesterday. He googlesd in Daddy,s name, Clyde Parrish, and found it.  I think it is great!

Keep in touch. My home e-mail address is ranmarled@hotmail.com

Randy,
I enjoyed the newsletter.  I remember Benny Weathers and Don Batten because they were both from Wendell.  Daddy taught and coached 3 sports in Wendell for 5 years before he went to Guilford College for 2 years.  Then Daddy recruited them to come to CMA.  They both played football for daddy at CMA.  I know a lot of the members of th CMA class of 1970-1972.  I went to elementary school with a lot of them before we moved to Laurinburg.  I'd like to see the picture of Bill Whaley and Daddy that was in last month's newsletter.  Maybe you could send me that newsletter.  Jack Holley is coaching at Harrell's Academy since his retirement.  I was hoping my husband would see him at the coaching clinic this past week but he didn't.  He saw Jack's son. Jack lives in Wallace, NC.  Larry Wittenburg and Jim Coble both live in Hickory, NC.  They both taught and coached at CMA after daddy left.  Then they were asst. coaches under my dad at Scotland High School. I'm sure they must be retired by now.  They might still be working part time.  Joe Creech taught and coached at CMA and now lives in Laurinburg.  I'll try to get his address for you sometime.
Thanks,
Margart Parrish Ledford
