I have been reflecting on your fine Memorial Tribute to Robert Michael Partridge.  It is my belief that you are giving me far too much credit for locating Mike. I look at this accomplishment as a team effort by you, Scott Blankinship and most of all Iris Gilbert the Assistant Librarian of the Clifton Forge Public Library.

After a couple of years of hit and miss attempts to locate Mike I had run out of leads as you and Scott can attest to.  One day I was thinking about our search for Mike and a thought crossed my mind to contact the liibrary in Mike's home town of Clifton Forge, Virginia. When I made contact I had the good fortune to talk to the Assistant Librarian, Iris Gilbert, who without her help expertise, finding Mike would never have happened.

She literally spent hours resesarching and investigating this matter, primarily in and around Mike's hometown.  You have seen part of her work that I forwarded to you and Scott. The only credit that I deserve is that of finding Iris who took the ball and ran with it.

Thank you, Randy

Tom

James (Jim) Daughtridge (1963)

I remember Mike well, as a new cadet knowing nothing about dorm living or the school in general, Mike always took time to offer helpful suggestions.

RIP Friend,

James Daughtridge '63/'64
