FAYETTEVILLE - Henry Bynum Farrell III, 67, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014.

He was born on Aug. 31, 1946, in Fayetteville. Following his graduation from Methodist University, he worked for Cumberland County Mental Health and the State of North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services in the Employee Assistance Program as a substance abuse counselor. He was a Mason with the Clifford Duell Lodge in Fayetteville. He was also a member of Sudan Shriners of New Bern.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Bourne Farrell; and his father, Henry Bynum "H.B." Farrell Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Amanda Farrell Briggs and her husband, John Glenn Briggs III, as well as his two granddaughters, Hailey Grace and Scarlett; his stepsons, Andrew Beamer, and Phillip Beamer and his wife, Kate; his mother, Violet "Beaddy" Farrell; his brother, Mike Farrell and his wife, Karen; and his sister, Jane Cheney and her husband, Ben.

Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service in Fayetteville, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m., with Dr. Bruce Martin officiating.
